LAHORE - The Young Doctors Association continued strike at OPDs of various hospitals in the province on the sixth day on Saturday to press for the demand of implementation of service structure and allowing PPSC selected MOs/WMOs to continue post graduation training. The OPDs closure caused huge inconvenience to the visiting patients and their families. However, the young doctors continued treating patients at the Emergency and Indoor.
Talking to The Nation, YDA Punjab spokesperson Dr Khurram Shahzad said that the government was not in a mood to pay heed to the legitimate demands of doctors. He said that the YDA was on strike at OPDs of Mayo Hospital, Services Hospital, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Lahore; Sheikh Zayed Hospital in Rahim Yar Khan; Allied Hospital and DHQ Hospital in Faisalabad; DHQ Hospital in DG Khan; and Nishter Hospital in Multan. He warned that the strike would continue and more hospitals would be added in phases if demands of the medical community were not accepted.–Staff Reporter
