NAB with SC blessings moves swiftly against plunderers

ISLAMABAD - Despite pressure from various quarters, Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is swiftly moving ahead with his agenda against the looters and plunderers of the national wealth, especially those who had benefited under the notorious National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO). Sources in the NAB informed that after getting the patronage and strength from Supreme Court of Pakistan during the course of hearing in NRO case, which was declared void, NAB Chairman Naveed Ahsan had not only swiftly moved to implement the apex courts order in NRO case but also bridged the deficiencies in the department developed after the incumbent Government ignored it completely after getting into power for obvious reasons. The sources in the NAB further informed that now the things had changed much after the Supreme Court verdict on NRO and NAB had, once again, acquired pivotal role and Chairman NAB had moved quickly to implement the SC verdict. The Chairman NAB during the process had completed the shortage of prosecutors and now it was having the full strength of prosecutors who were being monitored directly by the Chairman. In the same fashion, the NAB officials were vigorously pursuing the pending inquiries involving billions of rupees public money while all the existing cases were being tried in the NAB courts. The sources informed that not even a single case withdrawn under the NRO was left and all the cases were revived from the point where they were dropped out and NAB officials were engaged in pursuing these cases in the relevant courts. Sources in the department informed that earlier they were just waiting for the winding up of the department as repeatedly announced by the President and Prime Minister but now the situation has changed and NAB is seeking strength from the apex court in dealing with the looters and plunderers of the national wealth.
