Sindh Assembly condemns Israeli brutalities in Palestine

I CM Murad criticises FM Qureshi for ‘indulging’ in PTI’s internal rifts

KARACHI - Sindh Assembly on Friday unanimously adopted a resolution to condemn state terrorism carried out by Israel in Palestine and demanded immediate halting of hostilities against the unarmed people of Palestine who had been cordoned in their own land by a ‘state which has modeled itself as a modern colonial and apartheid promoting’.
Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah tabled a resolution that was jointly read by Rabia Azfar Nizami of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Mangla Sharma of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) and Grand Democratic Alliance’s (GDA) Nusrat Sehar Abbasi.
“This house expresses deep concern over the current escalation of hostilities against Palestinians started during the holy month of Ramazan by attacking worshipers at Masiid Al Aqsa. It also condemns this unprovoked attack on innocent Palestinians, the latest in the ongoing terrorism perpetuated by the fascist Israel State,” the resolution read.
The Assembly through the joint and unanimous resolution considered the continuous blockade of Gaza by Israel as tantamount to the largest concentration camp of modem times and denounced in unequivocal terms, the atrocities being committed on the people of Palestine by the State of Israel.
The House also mourned the loss of innocent Palestinian lives at the hands of Israeli aggression and prayed for those who sustained injuries. While reiterating the support for the fundamental right of Palestinian people for realisation of their right, the Assembly asked the provincial government to take this matter up with the centre for conveying to the international community that the people of Pakistan stand with their Palestinian brethren with all the support during this most difficult time.

by Pakistani govt’

Murad was of the view that Muslim Ummah was desperately missing leaders like Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shah Faisal (Faisal Bin Abdul Aziz) to raise effective voice for the Muslims. “They both were killed under a conspiracy,” he added.
The CM was not seemed pleased with efforts of Pakistan government on the matter and said: “I don’t think enough was done by Pakistani government”. He also criticised Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi for ‘indulging’ in PTI’s internal rifts instead of using all diplomatic channels for stopping atrocities in Palestine. “You should raise this issue in effective manner and take strong stance, the whole nation would back you,” said Murad.
‘What to do with missile
having 2,000km range’
Syed Abdul Rasheed of the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) said that Israel was carrying out massacre in Palestine with full backing of the United States (US). He also criticised the United Nations (UN) for its dual criteria, saying that a Christian state was established in South Sudan but the UN’s resolutions on Kashmir and Palestine could not see the light of day.
Parliamentary Leader of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) Mufti Muhammad Qasim Fakhri said that Palestine would not be freed by bagging from European Union (EU) and UN but by Jihad. He asked the government of Pakistan and Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to announce Jihad.
PTI’s Parliamentary Leader Bilal Ahmed hailed the federal government for taking ‘proactive’ measures to stop loss of human lives in Palestine. Firdaus Shamim Naqvi said that Turkish President Rajab Tayyab Erdogan was being appreciated for his strong stance on matter but he was himself impressed by Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s efforts for resolution of the dispute.
Mangla Sharma of MQM-P termed to stand with Palestine was to stand with humanity, adding that she supported the people of Palestine ‘as it is a matter of humanity’. “Injustice being committed against any religion or community should be condemned,” she added.
GDA’s Nusrat Sehar Abbasi urged that practical steps should also be taken for the people of Palestine besides adopting the resolutions. “Al-Aqsa Masjid is a holy place for the Muslims as it is our first Qibla,” she said.
