Rally held in London against fake encounters in IIOJK

London   -   British Kashmiris and Pakistanis held a protest against fake encounters and ongoing violence in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

The protest was held under the aegis of Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK, an advocacy group which campaigns for the fundamental human rights for the Kashmiri people, at the General Consulate of India against the murder of innocent Kashmiris under fake encounters. The protestors demanded immediate end to the occupation of Kashmir by India and called for a plebiscite for the Kashmiri people’s right of self-determination. The protest was held under the leadership of Raja Faheem Kayani, president of Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK.  The protestors raised concerns over granting domiciles to over five million non-Kashmiris, paving the way for settler colonisation of Kahsmir.

Speaking on the occasion, Fahim Kayani said: “Fake encounters by Indian forces and not returning the bodies to their families and burying them in unmarked graves in jungles (deserted areas) must be condemned. Killing of Altaf Ahmed Bhat, Dr Mudassir Gul and other Kashmiris in recent fake encounters have exposed the catch and kill policy of India. Continuous protest by the families of Altaf Ahmad Bhat and Dr Mudassir Gul in severe cold got the attention on social and main stream media which compelled the Indian army to dug graves and hand over the bodies to their family for proper burial.”

Muhammad Ghalib, President Tehreek-e-Kashmir Europe, Fahim Kayani President Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK, Muhammad Yousuf Farooq, President TeK Youth Assembly UK, Khawaja Muhammad Suleman, Founding member of TeK UK, Ch Ikram-ul-Haq, Mushtaq Hussain, Rana Rabnawaz Khan, Naeem Khan, Azam Farooq, Farooq Qadri, Ghazanfar Ali and others also addressed the protestors.
