LAHORE- Thousands of cricketers, officials, coaches from across the country and organisers held a peaceful demonstration in front of the Islamabad Press Club demanding the resignation of Chairman PCB and restoration of regional associations and departmental cricket. The protesters alleged that the PCB has ruined the grassroot level cricket and even it has politicisied the club’s scrutiny besides imposing heavy fees on clubs. They also demanded of the government that the constitution of 2014 should be restored. On this occasion slogans were raised against the temperamental PCB chairman. Speaking on the occasion, Cricket Organiser Shakeel Sheikh said that they have come out for the restoration of cricket associations and will keep protesting until elected cricket bodies and constitution are restored. He said that after Islamabad, there will be a demonstration in Karachi and as well as Lahore. “The organisers and cricketers should be given their right and the regions and associations across the country should be restored,” he demanded. The protesters also marched to the F-6 press club and burnt cricket equipment.
