Patwari netted over corruption

SARGODHA    -   Anti-Corruption Establish­ment (ACE) arrested a ‘pat­wari’ (Revenue Officer) from Bhakkar over corruption on Wednesday. According to ACE spokesperson, Haji Abdul Rauf Sial submitted an application to Regional Director ACE stating that Patwari Fakhrul Islam was demanding Rs20,000 as bribe for the demarcation of his land. The team raided at patwari office and nabbed Fakher-ul-Islam red handed.

COMMISSIONER INAUGURATES LADIES PARK

Commissioner Sargodha Division Maryam Khan on Wednesday inaugurated la­dies park to provide healthy and recreational activities to the women of Sargodha.

While talking to media, she said that all out efforts would be made for the beautifica­tion of city. She said the la­dies park was decorated with plants and flowery shrubs and trees of various species. “The park will be further equipped with joy rides and swings for the children,” she added. All officials concerned were present on the occasion.

297 FOOD OUTLETS FINED

Punjab Food Authority (PFA) teams Wednesday imposed fines on 297 food points for violating the PFA rules dur­ing last month.

According to PFA spokes­person, teams headed by Ad­ditional Director Operations PFA Umar Farooq Sheikh inspected 1,932 eateries and food selling points and dis­carded 4,000-liter adulter­ated milk, 1,500kg pickles, 1,930-liter contaminated wa­ter, 368kg spices and 306kg unhygienic oil. The teams got registered cases against three people over adulteration in concerned police stations while production of two units was sealed over violation.

Notices were served to 1,300 food points for sell­ing unhygienic sub-standard food items, he added.

VC VISITS UNDER-CONSTRUCTION CAMPUS OF SARGODHA UNIVERSITY

Sargodha University Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Qa­iser Abbas visited the under-construction Allama Iqbal Campus of the university and reviewed the pace of work.

University College of En­gineering and Technology and College of Law would be shifted to the new campus. The campus has been con­structed on an area of about 50 acres in Chak 51-SB with funds provided by the High­er Education Department, Government of Punjab and Higher Education Commis­sion of Pakistan. During the visit, the VC was briefed by two officials of relevant de­partments— Malik Ahmad Yar and Umeer Ashraf about completion of the boundary wall, academic block, and electrical works as well as the administration block at the Allama Iqbal campus
