Two dacoits killed, one arrested in encounter, claim police

CPO appreciates performance of police Jawans, announced commendation certificates

FAISALABAD    -    Two dacoits were killed, while one was arrested in police en­counter in the area of Chak Jh­umra police station, claim police. 

Police said here on Wednes­day that four bandits were on their looting spree near Chak 126 Nikokara. The team reached the spot on victim’s information.

The police directed the out­laws to surrender but they opened indiscriminate firing. The police retaliated and during the encounter, 3 criminals re­ceived serious bullet injuries and fell down on the ground whereas their fourth accomplice managed to escape from the scene.

The police immediately shifted the injured to hospital where two were pronounced dead whereas condition of third was stated crit­ical. The outlaws were identified as Asad alias Nazim and Imtiaz alias Nawaz who were wanted by police in a number of dacoity, robbery and other cases.

Police said a Jawan of dolphin force—Asif also sustained inju­ries in the encounter. Meanwhile, City Police Officer (CPO) Faisala­bad Omar Saeed Malik appreci­ated the performance of police Jawans and announced commen­dation certificates for them.

SACK-PACKED BODY OF MISS­ING CHILD FOUND

A sack-packed body of an eight-year-old child, who went missing from his home three weeks ago, was found from a locality at Sar­godha Road, here on Wednesday.

The police said that the child, Hamza of Islamia Park, went missing on Sept 7, and his fa­ther, Nadeem Mushtaq, had got an abduction case registered against unknown persons.

On Wednesday, the police were informed about a sack-packed body lying in Street No 8, Taj Colony, which the police took into custody. Later on, Mushtaq identified it as the body of his missing child. Forensic evidence has been collected and legal ac­tion has been started against un­identified criminals, police said.

25 CRIMINALS HELD, CONTRABAND SEIZED

Police claimed on Wednesday to have arrested 25 criminals and recovered drugs and illegal weap­ons from their possession in the district during the last 24 hours.

According to police, raiding teams nabbed two proclaimed of­fender and 8 drug pushers and re­covered 3.9 kg hashish, 200 grams ice and 400 grams opium from their possession. The police also held 6 gamblers and recovered Rs2,370 from them. In a crack­down against illegal weapons, the police arrested 9 persons and re­covered 7 pistols, two rifles and a number of bullets from them.
