Buzdar advises opponents to read writing
on the wall

LAHORE   -   Federal Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan called on Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office and discussed matters of mutual interest.

Both strongly condemned the Quetta blast and expressed a deep sense of sorrow over the loss of precious human lives. They also deplored the opposition’s response to the recent situation.

The CM stated that the enemy was trying to destabilize the country and asserted that the nefarious designs of the enemy will be defeated.

The nation, as well as the law enforcement agencies, has rendered invaluable sacrifices for maintaining peace and the coward enemy cannot weaken the strong commitment of the nation, he continued.

Usman Buzdar maintained that the politics of chaos and anarchy has met a natural death and the government has responded to anarchistic designs through public service. The people have rejected the negative politics while PDM has disintegrated. He advised the opponents to read the writing on the wall adding that the journey of development was being moved forward with speed in the province.

Some areas were willingly neglected in the past but the incumbent government has pursued a vision of composite development so that everyone could reap the fruits of development, concluded the CM.

Ghulam Sarwar Khan said the government has thwarted the anarchistic designs of the opposition through public support and vowed to move the journey of public service forward under the leadership of PM Imran Khan. Separately, Provincial Ministers Muhammad Ajmal Cheema and Khayal Ahmad Kastro met with Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office to apprise him about the problems of their constituencies. The CM assured to early resolve the issues.

The CM said Rs 5.5 billion Ramazan Package had been offered to facilitate the people in the holy month of Ramzan ul Mubarak and pointed out that Punjab is the only province where 10 kg flour bag is available at Rs 375 while 20 kg flour bag is available at Rs 860 in the open market.

Similarly, sugar is available at Rs 65 per kg in Ramazan bazaars and other items are also available at subsidised rates.  The ministers are deputed to monitor the Ramazan Package and indiscriminate action was being carried out against hoarders and illegal profiteers, he added.

He asserted that illegal profiteering will not be allowed as jail is the best place for the price-hike mafia. The CM added that PDM has become a thing of the past and the politics of now or never has also met a terminal death. Those claiming to hold a long march or tender resignations have lost their credibility as people cannot be served through hollow slogans, he added.

Also, Provincial Labour Minister Ansar Majeed Niazi called on Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office and briefed him about the departmental performance and future roadmap. The CM assured to provide every possible resource for the welfare of the labour community adding that the government will continue to work for the industrial workers. He pointed out that complete lockdown has been avoided for the sake of the labour community despite intensity in the third corona wave.

The government wants to keep the wheel of trade and industry moving while observing corona SOPs, he continued and directed to ensure wearing facemasks in industrial units. The purpose of inspector less regime is to facilitate industrialists while the government will continue to provide the best treatment facilities to labourers in social security hospitals, concluded the CM. Secretary Labour was also present.

through Ehsaas Programme as the special package has been given to the womenfolk, elderly citizens and differently-abled persons. Meanwhile, sewing machines will be given to the widows and jobless women to earn their livelihood, he stated.
