Governor refuses to accept KPK govt’s decision on Eid


PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Barrister Masood Kausar, refusing to accept the decision of the provincial government, offered his Eidul Fitr prayers on Monday along with Corps Commander Peshawar Lt. Gen. Khalid Rabbani; hundreds of jawans and officers of Pakistan Army and civilians at THE Garrison Services Sports Ground in Peshawar.
Special prayers were offered for security, solidarity, unity, development and prosperity of the country; eternal peace of the martyrs and patience and courage for their near and dear ones. Later, the Governor and the Corps Commander mixed with jawans and officers of the Pak Army and civilians and exchanged Eid greetings.
It is to be mentioned here that the KPK government, on the recommendation of the provincial moon sighting, had decided to celebrate the Eid across the province on Sunday last.
Meanwhile, a large number of representative figures hailing from different walks of life called on the Governor at the Governor’s House, Peshawar, to exchange Eid greetings with him.
Amongst them also included some of the provincial ministers, sitting and former elected representatives, senior government officials, tribal elders, veteran citizens, lawyers and students.  The Governor also discussed matters of national and public interests with them. They also apprised the Governor about the problems which the people of their respective areas are facing. The Governor assured them of taking necessary steps for their to resolve these problems on priority basis.
