LAHORE - Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan has accused Pakistan Awami Tehrik Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri of playing for India to create disturbance and anarchy in Pakistan.

The minister returned the allegations leveled by Dr Tahir during his address to his supporters in 80 cities at a time on Saturday in which he held that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narindra Modi are closely working together to hit at the vital interests of Pakistan and that India had hugely spent for four years to see the PML-N government back in power in 2013 elections.

Sana openly charged the PAT chairman for receiving first installment from India to throw a spanner in the ongoing China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and create anarchy and instability in Pakistan. “Qadri has been assigned by India to sabotage the CPEC,” Sana said while addressing a press conference yesterday.

As to action on the killing of 14 persons in Model Town in June 2014, the law minister again held the PAT responsible for delaying the legal procedure.

He said after an FIR was registered on the complaint of PAT, the party again moved the court of get another FIR registered against about 125 persons. “The hearing on that private complaint is going on before an anti-terrorism court while proceedings of the previous case suspended.”

He further said that PAT also did not join the JIT probe as such any delay in taking the case to its logical end is due to Qadri’s party only. He added that nine policemen and the PAT workers have been charged with the killing for 14 persons in Model Town.

Sana also chided Imran Khan while terming him ‘non-sense, and ‘confused’ who tried to make the army controversial and dim the success of Zarb-e-Azb by stirring the matter of the COAS extension before media. As to the PTI move against the government, he said, it was without any public support so, was bound to meet the failure as it happened previously about the PTI in 2014.

To a question on combing operation in Punjab and the PTI demand for Karachi-like operation in Punjab particularly Lahore, the law minister said that combing operation against the terrorists who came here from Afghanistan, has been going on over the last three years. He overruled any need of Karachi like operation in Punjab where he said, no target killings like Karachi were taking place.

As such there is no need for exclusive Rangers’ operation in Punjab where, he added, Rangers along with army, police and CTD was also in action to uproot terrorism.

To a question he also rubbished the statements that September is going to be fateful for the government and without naming AML leader Sheikh Rashid Ahmad said, it has a ploy of a man from Rawalpindi to avenge the refusal made by Nawaz Sharif to accept him in the party.

Replying to the question of missing children in Punjab, he said that the matter has been stretched out of proportion by media while situation was as usual as it always used to be. He rebuffed reports on missing children and maintained that no organised gang was active to kidnap the kids and most of those who went missing have returned home after they had left home as reaction to the harsh attitude of their parents.
