Govt feats of ensuring composite development enumerated

LAHORE - Member Punjab Assembly from PP-170 (Lahore) Muhammad Amin Zulqarnain called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar at the CM’s Office and thanked him for providing funds for the development of the area.

He commended the chief minister for initiating unprecedented projects for the progress and development of Lahore city. He said that the completion of these projects will provide immense facilities to the Lahorites. Usman Buzdar said that development projects were being devised with the suggestions, proposals and consultation of elected representatives. He said that unplanned and self-projected projects were started in some cities including Lahore in the past which put an extra burden on the exchequer. He said that the current government had devised a strategy in order to improve the infrastructure of Lahore city.

“Projects like Sheranwala Flyover, Shahkam Chowk Flyover and Gulab Devi Underpass have been launched. The completion of these projects will solve the traffic problem on a permanent basis and the citizens of Lahore will have access to ample transportation facilities,” he said, adding that 11 underground water storage tanks were also being set up in Lahore for timely discharge and storage of rainwater. “The project of setting up an underground water tank on Lawrence Road has been completed while construction work on underground water tanks near Kashmir Road and Sheranwala Gate is underway,” he stated. He added that approval for the establishment of a water tank at Gaddafi Stadium has been granted. He said that public preferences have been taken into consideration instead of self-exhibitory projects.
