ISLAMABAD: Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) has rejected PTI chairman Imran Khan plea seeking exemption from attendance in the court in 4 cases including an attack on PTV.
Four cases including an attack on PTV, Parliament and torture of former SSP Islamabad Asmat Ullah Junejo case are pending a hearing in ATC Islamabad. Imran Khan had already recorded his statements to police in these cases and the court had granted bail to him in all these four cases.
Imran Khan had filed the petition in ATC Islamabad through his counsel Babar Awan seeking exemption from attendance in the court. He had taken the plea that granting the exemption was the domain of the court.
There are clear orders of the supreme court that exemption can be granted for solid reasons. The petitioner is ready to appear before the court on important hearings. Shahrukh Arjumand judge of ATC Islamabad took up the petition for hearing on Friday and rejected Imran plea for exemption from attendance.
The court remarked Imran had been summoned on February 26 and this petition would be decided on an aforementioned date.
