Niaz Stadium in good condition: PCB

OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Friday clarified a report carried in a section of media about the condition of Niaz Stadium, Hyderabad. According to news items, the impression that the Cricket Stadium is being used for non-cricketing activities like wedding parties and also as a helipad and is not fit as a venue to host an international match. Allegations mentioned in the report are totally unfounded and completely baseless, said a PCB press release. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) asserts that the stadium is well-maintained and is in very good condition. Since the PCB has taken over the ground in June 2007 no such activity has happened there. "Maintenance of stadiums and grounds are a continuous process and the PCB is committed to keep all the facilities ready to operate. Additional infrastructure installation is already under process and we are ready to host an international match on the ground on a week's notice," Mir Haider Ali Talpur, President Regional Cricket Association Hyderabad said. It is pertinent to mention here that Niaz Stadium Hyderabad was chosen as a venue for the recently postponed tour of Bangladesh U-19 Cricket Team to Pakistan.
