KPK govt sees foreign hand behind mosque attack

PESHAWER - Imamia Students Organisation (ISO) staged on Saturday a protest demonstration against suicide attack on a seminary in Peshawar. The attack killed 15 people and injured many others in a Shia mosque during Friday prayers.
Holding banners and placards inscribed with different slogans, dozens of ISO activists protested in front of Peshawar Press Club.  The ISO alleged the government had failed to provide protection to the community, adding Shia members were being killed for no reason. They demanded the government to arrest the killers; otherwise, they would launch a series of protests against such incidents. Later on, the protesting ISO activists dispersed peacefully.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Shaukat Ali Khan Yousafzai said that foreign elements were behind the Hussainia Mosque blast incident and vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Addressing the 'Mulaqat' programme of Khyber Union of Journalists here at the Peshawar Press Club, he said that Taliban had clearly stated that they were against attacking worship places.
He said that it had been proved that some foreign elements were involved in these attacks, which was a horrific thing for the country peace and solidarity.
He said that it was mandatory for the government to make intelligence agencies an effective force to thwart these attacks.
He said that these were not incidents of ordinary nature. "These are very brutal acts of terror and hands of international elements cannot be ignored," he added.
He mentioned that federal government must disassociate itself from the so-called war against terror as this was not the war of Pakistan but imposed on us. He said that it was very important for the federal government to take national leadership in confidence and formulate an effective foreign policy to counter international conspiracies. "Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf always supports dialogue with Taliban but unfortunately whenever the government starts preparation, US is interfering through drone attacks to sabotage it," he lamented
He said that Afghan people could resolve their problems on their own and Pakistan should not intervene in the war of others.
He mentioned that peace in Pakistan was impossible without peaceful Afghanistan and the rulers should not consider that this war would be confined to Khyber Pakhtukhwa but it could engulf other provinces too. To a question regarding corruption, the minister said that PTI-led government would not allow corruption in the province.
He said that all resources would be utilised to end the culture of corruption.
He also announced Rs0.3 million for each martyred family members of the blast and Rs100,000 for each injured.
