Two more matches decided in 6th Essa Lab Trophy Basketball Event

LAHORE - Mamba Squad and Nishtar Club won their respective matches in the 6th Essa Lab Trophy Basketball Tournament 2022 at International Abdul Nasir Basketball Court, Aram Bagh, Karachi.
According to KBBA President Ghulam Muhammad Khan, in the first match, Mamba Squad Basketball Club defeated hosts Usman Basketball Club by 68-48. Kenneth Johnson (25), Zakaria Ali (22) and Sameer Ahmed (18) with the help of 5 three pointers emerged as top scorers from Usman Club while Usman Khawaja (14), Hamza Khawaja (12) and Feroz Ahmed (10) played well for the losing club.
The second match of the day saw Nishtar Basketball Club outpacing Civil Tigers Basketball Club by 74-51 to qualify for the next round. Ali Chen Zeb from Nishtar Club scored 32 points with the help of 6 three pointers while SM Abbas (20) and Hamza Sheikh (16) and Abdul Rehman (10) also played well. From the losing club, Danial Marwat (18), End Ray Turner (14) and Ahsan Iqbal (12) remained the top scorers.
The referees were Tariq Hussain, Amir Sharif, Ashraf Yahya and Zainul Abideen while the technical officials were Raj Kumar Lakhwani, Naeem Ahmed, Mumtaz Ahmed, Adnan Salehin and Usman Sheikh.
NISHTAR BASKETBALL COURT WILL BE MADE IDEAL COURT: ADMINISTRATOR BALDIA SHARQI
Baldia Sharqi will start the renovation work of Nishtar Basketball Court and it will make the court ‘ideal’. In the first phase, construction and repair of the court, construction of dressing room and installation of flood lights will be done.
Before the commencement of work, Administrator Baldia Sharqi Rehmatullah Sheikh along with Karachi Basketball Association (KBBA) President Ghulam Muhammad Khan visited Nishtar Basketball Court. Superintendent Engineer Ismail Memon and Director Parks and Services Tauqeer Abbas were also present on the occasion.
Sharqi Rahmatullah Sheikh said that Nishtar Basketball Court will be made the ideal court of Shar-e-Quaid. “An exhibition match will be held on the occasion of ‘Independence Day’ soon after the completion of construction work in which prominent and well-known basketball players of the country will take part. Youth is our asset and we should provide them facilities for healthy activities.”
KBBA President Ghulam Muhammad Khan announced that the on the occasion of Independence Day, the KBBA will honor Sharqi Rahmatullah Sheikh with the Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto award for his great services for sports and sportspersons of Shehr-e-Quaid.
