CHANDIGARH (PTI) - With India-Pakistan semi-final clash in the World Cup a theoretical possibility, tickets have been selling like hot cakes for match scheduled on March 30 to be hosted by Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) stadium. If India win against Australia and Pakistan beat West Indies in their quarterfinal ties, the arch-rivals will meet at Mohali, one of the two semi-final venues. "If both India and Pakistan win their quarterfinal games, Mohali will be able to witness a dream match," an excited Class XI student of a local school, Siddharth Gupta said after purchasing a ticket. PCA joint secretary, GS Walia confirmed that there has been a brisk sale of tickets. "There has been a brisk sale of tickets for the semi-final match. A total of 9,920 tickets have been sold on the opening day yesterday at various branches of Central Bank of India including the two gates of PCA stadium, Mohali," said Walia. One bank branch in Panchkula, three branches in Chandigarh and one branch in Mohali are selling the tickets for this match, but the maximum rush was at the gates of PCA stadium, Walia said. The remaining tickets are being sold on Tuesday at two gates of PCA stadium.
