PESHAWAR - The Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao on Friday called for choosing impartial ministers for the caretaker set-up, adding that preference shouldn’t be given to any specific party.
“The caretaker ministers should be selected on merit in order to make the electoral process transparent,” he said while taking to a delegation of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Abbottabad chapter’s women wing in Islamabad.
PPP Abbottabad chapter’s Women Wing General Secretary Sahira Malik, SVP Rubina Ayaz, VP Nasreen, Joint Secretary Palwasha, PPP Abbottabad tehsil President Zareena Bibi, Finance Secretary Fakhar Naz and scores of other women workers announced joining the QWP on the occasion.
QWP General Secretary Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli, former member provincial assembly Nargis Sameen and Naeema Nisar were also in attendance.
He said that his party would file candidates in all the constituencies for contesting the polls and achieve landslide victory.
He said efforts would be made to bring an end to price-hike, lawlessness, rampant corruption and energy crisis if the QWP was voted to power.
Aftab Sherpao said the people would reject the rulers in the coming elections by using the power of their vote. He said the outgoing government had abandoned the socially and financially disadvantaged segments of the society over the last five years.
He said his party would remove the sense of deprivation among the residents of the underdeveloped areas. “We will leave no stone unturned to development the Hazara division. It will be our utmost priority,” he promised.
QWP chief said that his party would continue making efforts for the restoration of peace on the soil of the Pakhtuns.
Expressing concern at the displacement of the people hailing from Tirah valley of Khyber Agency, he demanded that the dislocated souls be given all the facilities as they had gone through immense difficulties.
