Khawaja Asif addresses N workers 396 kids of workers get Rs6.8m scholarships


SIALKOT - PML-N central leader Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that the Punjab government was making an all-out effort to raise living standard of the people by providing basic facilities to them at their doorsteps.
Addressing a meeting of the party workers held at Anwar Club Auditorium, the PML-N leader said that the provincial government’s “people-friendly” policies were paving the way for decreasing unemployment rate and alleviating poverty.
He said that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had made the dream of doing business of the people from middle class true by launching Yellow Cab Taxi Scheme. He termed it another noble and honourable employment scheme. He said that all the Pakistan-made vehicles have been included in this scheme to provide maximum job opportunities to the youths, enabling them to earn a living.
Later, he distributed Rs6.8 million educational scholarships among 396 children of Sialkot-based industrial workers and labourers during a special ceremony held at the auditorium.
 Manshaullah Butt, the special assistant to Punjab chief minister, Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Sheikh Abdul Majeed and DCO Zahid Saleem Gondal were also present.
EID PLAN OKAYED: A comprehensive security plan for Eidul Azha has been finalised in active consultation with public representatives to ensure peace in Sialkot district.
Talking to the newsmen, Sialkot DCO Zahid Saleem Gondal added that the district administrations and the law-enforcement agencies were being directed in this regard. He said that there was a good mutual working relationship between administration, police and other law-enforcement agencies. Thus, the effective security measures have also been adopted, he said. The DCO stressed the need for promotion of tolerance in the society, besides developing and strengthening cooperation among administration, police, civil society organisations and the Ulema belonging to all the schools of thought.
