NITB, GIK urge to bridge gap between industry, academia

SWABI    -    National Information Technology Board (NITB), Director General (Project Management Office) Faisal Iqbal, and Faqir Ullah, Project Director (Smart Office), National IT Board in a meeting with Rector, Ghulam Ishaq Khan (GIK) In­stitute of Engineering Sciences and Technology on Thursday said that there is dire need to reduce the gap in the linkages between industry and academia to strengthen our feeble economy and have a pros­perous future.

The meeting was attended by Sardar Aminul­lah, Pro-Rector (Admin & Finance), Prof Dr Wasim, Pro-Rector (Academic), Dr Ahmar Rashid, Dean Fac­ulty of Computer Science and Technology, and Dr Ghulam Abbas, Director (IT).

They discussed various options under which the National Information Technology Board and GIK In­stitute could enter into result-oriented collaboration. Both organisations agreed to work together under a public-private partnership.
