KARACHI - Provincial Government has provided Sindh Reserve Police (SRP) with new vehicles. The government had decided to facilitate the police to coup with crimes as it was responsibility of Police to maintain the law and order situation' said Deputy Inspector General of SRP, Asghar Sheikh, while addressing a press conference held here at his office on Saturday. He said that new vehicles had been handed over to SRP to provide them facility. It includes six Hino buses and five mobile units. He further said that the allowances of the SRP also had been restored. Commenting over the performance of the SRP, he said that almost fourteen hundred personnel from the reserve police had been merged with district operational police and four hundred were in traffic during the tenure of IG Police, Sallahuddin Khattak. These personnel were already well trained, although the remaining SRP personnel would also be more trained. Another officials told The Nation on the condition of the anonymity, that there was no need of other forces in the province to maintain law and order situation because the SRP had full capability to tackle all the problems related to law and order. He also said" if the government provides such facilities to SRP, the reserve police will surly show better results.
