ISLAMABAD - Almost all main opposition political parties in the National Assembly have started consultations to bring a no-confidence motion against NA Speaker Asad Qaiser for, what they called, his ‘biased conduct’ in the House against the opposition.
Sources told The Nation yesterday that the move, proposed by PPP, is yet to be formally announced by the joint opposition after consensus is achieved on it.
“Ssignificant progress is expected next week by the joint opposition on the proposed no-trust motion as both senior PPP and PML-N leaders would meet in Islamabad”, the source confided.
The sources said Opposition Leader Shahbaz Sharif has called a meeting of his parliamentary party next week to chalk out a strategy.
Both the opposition parties have directed their MPs to remain present in Islamabad and ensure their presence in the parliament. The sources said if the joint opposition is successful in tabling the no-trust motion against the speaker, it would create trouble for the government in the parliament.
