RENALA KHURD - A minor-girl was killed while another sustained injuries after falling from a swing in a park, here on Friday. Police said that two minor girls were swinging in the park when they fell down. As a result, an un-identified girl died on-the-spot while another sustained injuries who was shifted to a nearby hospital. Police have started investigation into the incident.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has sought a report from Commissioner and RPO Sahiwal about an incident of falling of two girls from swing in Okara. The CM expressed a deep sense of sorrow over the death of a girl child and extended sympathies to the heirs. He directed to provide the best treatment to the injured girl. The CM also directed to hold an inquiry for taking action against those responsible for the negligence.
Four rescued, eight missing as boat capsizes in Chenab
Eight persons were missing and four children rescued as a boat capsized in the River Chenab here on Friday.
According to rescue sources, the boat with two families on board, who were reportedly on a pleasure trip, suddenly capsized in the middle of the River Chenab. On receiving information, the local divers reached the site of incident and managed to rescue four children, while the search for eight others, including women, was continuing till filing of this report.
Man kills father in Sargodha
A man shot dead his father for reprimanding him on consuming liquor in Satellite Town police limits, here on Friday. Police said one Sikander Hayyat of Yousaf Park used to consume liquor. His Father Fateh Muhammad scolded him over his bad habits and in a fit of rage, Sikander shot dead his father and escaped from the scene. The body was handed over to the family after postmortem. Police have registered a case and started conducting raids to arrest the accused.
Youth electrocuted
A youth was electrocuted near. Rescue-1122 said that a youth namely Muhammaf Aradalan resident of Sufyan town, Sheikhupura Road was working in his home when his hand accidentally touched with live electricity wires. He received electric shock and died on-the-spot without getting medical assistance. Rescue-1122 team handed over the body to the legal heirs.
3 held with narcotics
The police arrested three drug peddlers and recovered 5.480-kg hashish from their possessions. According to a police spokesman, officials of Sambrial police station conducted a raid and arrested Qadeer and Aqeel with 2.820-kg.
