LAHORE - The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand, and the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) can collaborate in areas like livestock management, aquaculture fisheries management and other management disciplines. This was suggested by a three-member delegation from the AIT led by institute President Prof Said Irandost, who called on UVAS faculty of animal production and technology dean Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha here on Wednesday. They also discussed the areas of mutual cooperation to enhance the academic and technological partnership between both institutions. The meeting was arranged by Ambassador of Pakistan in Thailand Sohail Mahmood. Prof Irandoust said the AIT had almost 1,000 alumni from Pakistan and the number was increasing. He said the institute was also collaborating with many international organisations around the world to synergise resources for global sustainable development. Prof Pasha suggested that both the institutions could work together for joint-degree offering, collaborative research projects, and faculty/students exchange programmes. He urged the need of international collaboration so that UVAS could play its vibrant role through inclusion of science and technology while educating the faculty and students through latest knowledge.
