KARACHI - The Baghdadi police arrested a drug dealer on Wednesday near DD Chaudhry Road Lee Market while the accomplice of the accused managed to escape by throwing drugs at the spot. 

According to police, a squad of Baghdadi police raided in Lee Market and arrested a wanted drug dealer. The arrested accused has been identified as Anwar Ali.

The police officials said 44kg and 400 gram hashish has been recovered from the possession of arrested accused while 21kg 600 gram hashish was recovered from a bag threw by his accomplices who managed to escape. 

The accused revealed in the preliminary investigation that he used to buy cannabis from fugitive accused Imran Pathan who used to bring drugs from Quetta and supply it to different areas of Karachi city. Fugitive accused Imran Pathan is wanted by the police and raids are being carried out at various places to nab him, the police officials said.

An FIR No 369/2021 has been registered against the accused under Section 6/9C and the accused is being questioned about Imran Pathan and other accomplices and the previous criminal record of the accused is also being ascertained.

Meanwhile, the Malir police on Wednesday apprehended a drug dealer along with his accomplice from Shah Latif.

According to spokesperson of Malir police, the police acted on a tip-off near the National Highway arrested a drug dealer along with his accomplice. The arrested accused have been identified as Zubair and Muhammad Bakhsh.

The police said more than 6kg of fine quality hashish was recovered from the arrested accused. The arrested suspects were supplying drugs in different parts of the city.  The police officials said names of the arrested suspects were included in the list of most wanted drug dealers. The accused are habitual offenders and have been arrested and jailed in several drug cases. A case has been registered against the arrested accused and investigation is underway.  

Excise nabs 3 drug peddlers, seizes 26kg hashish

An excise police team nabbed three drug peddlers and seized 26kg hashish from their possession near Jacobabad on Wednesday.

According to excise department information, a team of Excise Department Jacobabad, led by Excise and Taxation Officer Ali Gohar Sehto, seized a suspicious Mazda truck No NAE-900 at check post near Agricultural College Shikarpur Road and recovered 26kg hashish from its hidden compartments. The team also arrested three accused Mehboob Khan, Sher Muhammad and Muhammad Shafiq have been arrested. A case has been registered against them and an investigation launched. The Mazda truck used in the incident has also been impounded. Provincial Minister for Excise & Taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawla has congratulated the raiding team on the successful operation and said that drug dealers do not deserve any concession and they must be taken to task.
