ISLAMABAD - Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan and his Turkish counterpart on Thursday agreed to stop illegal immigration and human smuggling from Pakistan to Turkey.
Both the sides agreed that it was their common target to end this menace and resolved that action would be taken against those elements involved in it. The two counterparts also agreed to the proposal of establishing a hotline between the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Turkish immigration authority to stop human smuggling.
Talking to Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu in a conference call, Rana Sanaullah said Turkey always helped Pakistan in its most difficult situations. He said that Pakistan was committed to strengthen the “excellent economic and business relationship with Turkey.
During the conversation, the Turkish interior minister lauded Pakistan’s efforts to end illegal immigration and human trafficking and said that better institutional coordination between the two countries would further prevent this illegal activity. Rana Sanaullah invited his counterpart to a visit to Pakistan to which he agreed.
