By-polls ‘rigging’
LAHORE - Pakistan Muslim League–Quaid (PML-Q) leader and Punjab Assembly speaker, Chaudhry Parvez Elahi on Thursday warned the Punjab government of strict action in case any attempt was made to rig the upcoming by-elections in Punjab. During a meeting with the PML-Q Rawalpindi delegation, he said that they would fully support PTI and run its election campaign, adding that the incumbent government has been exposed. The current rulers have no plan to steer the country out of economic crisis, he added. The Punjab Assembly speaker further said that the provincial government should refrain from rigging and use of police force during the upcoming Punjab by-polls otherwise strict action will be taken against them.
MONEY-LAUNDERING: MOONIS ELAHI SUBMITS REPLY TO FIA
PML-Q leader Moonis Elahi has submitted reply to Federal Investigation Agency in connection with an alleged Rs720 million money laundering case filed against him, local media reported. According to details, Moonis has submitted a reply through his lawyers. The investigation agency had asked the PML-Q leader to provide answers to 35 questions by June 23. He was granted interim bail by Banking Court in Lahore till July 4. The FIA would prepare a new strategy after reviewing the answers submitted by the former federal minister. Earlier on June 16, Moonis appeared before the FIA in connection with its ongoing probe into alleged money laundering.
