55 arrested for refusing polio drops to kids

PESHAWAR - The district administration Monday arrested 55 people for refusing to administer anti-polio vaccine to their children as crackdown against refusing parents continued on the second consecutive day. The administration had arrested 17 parents on the first day. Deputy Commissioner Riaz Mehsud said that efforts are on to pursue the refusing parents and more than 3,500 parents have been convinced to get their children immunised. The deputy commissioner said that arrest warrants have been issued against 300 more refusing parents.
