LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said the enemies of development are criticising public welfare projects of the PML-N government.
The chief minister was talking to party legislators yesterday. He expressed his resolve that government ignoring all this negative campaign of the rivals would continue with the development projects as prosperity of the people and progress of the country is more important to it than wasting time on the propaganda.
These projects would be completed expeditiously, he said adding, it was pity that elements not sincere with the masses are once again bracing for the politics of protests to waste precious time of the nation.
Shehbaz Sharif said provision of funds of Rs 33 billion by China for Lahore Orange Line Metro Train project is an important milestone and despite speculations and propaganda, China has proved its friendship with Pakistan and written a new history.
He said that Lahore Orange Line Metro Train is a revolutionary project for providing modern transport facilities of international standard to citizens. He said that only a handful of elite are opposing this project because they travel by planes and luxurious cars and are unaware of the transport problems of the common man.
The chief minister said that the PML-N government has introduced the culture of transparency, standard and speed in the projects. He said that federal and Punjab governments have set a splendid example by saving Rs 215 billion of the poor nation which is unprecedented in history.
Shehbaz Sharif said that China is a very sincere and reliable friend of Pakistan and supported it in every time of need. He said that cooperation of China in development projects is commendable and Chinese assistance has enabled Pakistan join the ranks of developed countries.
The chief minister said that Orange Line Metro Train project aims at resolving transport problem of the common man as the masses have a right over modern, speedy, comfortable and economical facilities of travel. He said that the revolutionary project of Orange Line Metro Train will result in modern transport facilities to the citizens.
He said that Orange Line Metro Train is a splendid project of public welfare and excellent example of utilization of public money on the masses. He said that work is continuing round the clock on metro train project and its completion will bring an improvement in living standard of the common people.
The chief minister said that Orange Line Metro Train will bring a revolution in transport sector and will be a masterpiece of transparency, standard and architecture. He said that a new example has been set by saving billions of rupees on metro train project. He said that common people will travel with respect and dignity on metro train.
