District nazims to hold demo in front of PTI chief’s house

Non-release of funds

PESHAWAR - To protest non-release of funds, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa District Nazims on Monday announced to hold a protest demonstration and sit-in in front of the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan’s house in Banigala. “For this purpose a forum All District Nazimeen Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Association was constituted,” Niaz Ahmad, District Nazim Shangla said this while addressing a news conference here at press club. District Nazim Peshawar Muhammad Asim Khan was chosen president whereas District Nazim Shangla Niaz Muhammad as General Secretary of the Association. Niaz alleged that change in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has come only on social media and achieved nothing on the ground.

He said that one year has completed of the Local Bodies’ polls in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as people elected their representatives and are expecting developmental projects but owing to government lackluster attitude no development was released so far to them.

Niaz Muhammad said that the PTI-led provincial government had adopted step-motherly treatment with the newly elected local government representatives across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as it was neither release developmental funds nor extending powers to them. He said that a sense of anxiety prevails among the local representatives.

He said that the provincial government was supposed to release all the pending developmental funds to local government representatives across the province but now it was using delaying tactics and forcing them to march towards Islamabad for rights of the people and hold a protest in front of Imran Khan house in Banigala.
