HAFIZABAD-A young married woman was allegedly gang-raped by six men here the other day. The police have registered a case against the accused and arrested of one of them.
According to the police, the affected woman, belonging to Sheikhupura, suffered from hepatitis. The accused namely Saddam alias Waseem, son of Inayat Bhatti, a resident of Garhi Awan, lured her into going with him to Hafizabad with false promise of better medical treatment. The accused took her to a dera on Hafizabad bypass where Saddam, Imran, Ali, Adnan, Rana Samar and Ulfat allegedly gang-raped her.
The police have started further investigation.
RECORD OF 3,500 PENSIONERS COMPUTERISED
Record of 3,500 pensioners has been computerised to facilitate them and ensure they get hassle-free payment, District Accounts Officer Muhammad Haneef Bhutta said.
While talking to the newsmen, he said that old-aged pensioners are facing a lot of hardships and inconvenience in getting pension by standing in long queues in hot and cold weather. He said that due to the computerisation of the record, pension amount would be credited in the bank account of pensioners and they can easily get the payment through the ATM or cheques.
