ISLAMABAD: Salaries and pension of government employees are likely to be increased about 12 to 15 percent in the upcoming budget for fiscal year 2016-17.

Sources said that funds amounting to Rs 614 billion are proposed to be allocated against salaries and pension of government employees in the budget for the next financial year 2016-17.

A sum of Rs 360 billion are likely to be earmarked for salaries and Rs 253 billion for pension in the upcoming budget. Two adhoc relief can also be merged into the basic pay. With amalgamation of two adhoc relief, the salaries and pension are likely to be increased from 12 to 15 percent.
