ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has filed an adjournment motion in the National Assembly, calling for a discussion to ensue on drone strikes.

The adjournment motion was filed Tuesday and has been signed by various PTI MNAs such as Shireen Mazari and Nafeesa Khattak.

The motion was put forward after US authorities claimed to have killed a Taliban leader in Balochistan via a drone strike. According to the document, Pakistan needs to strengthen its foreign policy and defense strategies.

In this regard, the adjournment motion called the statement issued by the Pakistan Foreign Office “meaningless,” saying the federal government needs to protect its territory and airspace, and provide clarity on Pakistan’s Afghan Policy.
