Two CDA officers suspended on misconduct, negligence

Islamabad - The Capital Development Authority (CDA) management has suspended the services of two audit officers of Land Directorate on account of their misconduct and negligence in discharging official duty.

The CDA management took this action on a complaint for issuing post-dated cheques to the affectees of sectors H-16 and I-17. Moreover, complaints regarding handing over of cheques to third party were also received against Nasir Qurban and Saeed Ahmed Qureshi.

In this context, an inquiry committee comprising senior officers has been constituted which will thoroughly investigate the matter and submit its findings for further action, under the law.

In order to ensure transparency in the procedures of inquiry, these officers have been suspended from their offices with immediate effect, said the CDA officials yesterday.

The CDA management has reiterated that every step would be taken to ensure transparency in all procedures, particularly in the matters pertaining to the affectees of Islamabad.

Moreover, strict monitoring system has also been evolved to avoid such incidents in future, they said.
