NANKANA SAHIB - DPO Ghulam Mubashir Maken said a four-tier security plan had been evolved to provide security to all majalis and processions on 9th and 10th of Muharram and Baba Guru Nanak Gee Dev 544 birthday celebrations. He said that the route of main Zuljinnah procession would also be checked through sniffer dogs.

He was talking to this scribe here the other day.

He said that army could be called in if the need arose. Four companies of the Pak army standby for any emergency in the district, he added.

In needed, army men would perform duty in all the three tehsils Shah Kot, Sangla Hill and Nankana Sahib of the district, he pointed out.

He said that no irrelevant person would be allowed at any cost on the route of Zuljinnah procession on 9th and 10th of Muharram, while a vigilant eye would be kept on balconies of the houses located on the procession route.

The DPO issued instructions to police officers and jawans to remain at their places of duty until all participants of the processions dispersed.

He said the patrolling by Elite and police officials on motorcycles would be ensured in the district.

All the police and other law enforcement agencies personnel had been put on red alert, as the security in and around all the mosques, Imambargahs, procession routs, religious seminaries, churches and other important public places had also been tightened.

The surveillance CCTV cameras have been installed in all the Imambargahs and on the ways of processions.

He directed police officials to perform their duty with commitment and dedication and foil nefarious designs of terrorists and miscreants.

The DPO also issued instructions to all DPOs and SHOs concerned to maintain record of the customers getting vehicles and motorcycles owners before providing their vehicles on rent for better security purpose during Muharram and Baba Guru Nanak Dev Gee 544 birthday celebrations which will start from November 25 to 28th.
