LAKKI MARWAT – Awami National Party activists Friday held a demonstration in Naurang Town to protest the bomb attack on the house of ANP female lawmaker Yasmeen Zia.

Led by ANP, district senior vice president, Mamraiz Khan, and general secretary, Fazal Rahim Khan, the protesters converged on Lorry Adda after marching through main bazaar.  They parked a pickup trucker in the middle of road and closed it for traffic for some time.

They raised slogans in favour of MPA Ms Zia and her spouse advocate Sadruddin, the district resident of ANP.

Speaking on the occasion, the ANP leaders condemned the bomb attack and said that such coward acts could not frighten Ms Zia and advocate Sadruddin. They told that the ANP lawmaker would continue her struggle for bringing peace and prosperity in the backward district.

“The anti-peace elements cannot shatter the strong determination of ANP leaders nor can they succeed to implement their malicious agenda in the province”, they maintained.

Meanwhile, ANP PK-76 chapter also held a meeting here in Lakki city and condemned the bomb attack on the house of ANP female lawmaker. Deputy General Secretary Murad Ali presided over the meeting while Wazir Khan, Noor Zaman and other office bearers were in the attendance.

Meanwhile, unknown miscreants fired rockets on a cement factory situated on Bannu-DI Khan road near Pezu town on the night between Thursday and Friday.

“Two rocket propelled grenades (RPGs) were fired from eastern side of village Wanda Ahmad Khan and they landed on the premises of factory causing panic”, said an official. He said that the rocket attack did not cause any damage or loss to the machinery or other installations of the gigantic cement-producing unit.

A contingent of Haibat Ali Khan police station rushed to the area and launched search operation but no arrests could be made immediately. Police registered a case against unknown militants under relevant sections of Explosive and anti-Terrorism Acts and began investigation.
