Humanitarian diplomacy key to promote Indo-Pak peace


ISLAMABAD  - People to people contact and humanitarian diplomacy among Pakistan and India is a key for a lasting peace in the region.
This was stated during the India Pakistan Soldiers Initiative (IPSI) for peace delegation visit to Pakistan Red Crescent Society National Headquarters   here on Friday.
The delegation include Lt Gen Mr and Mrs Moti Dar, President IPSI India, Maj Gen Mr and Mrs Raj Chadha,Maj Gen Mr and Mrs H.C Sharma, Brig Mr and Mrs J L Kaul, Secy Gen IPSI India, Col Mr and Mrs Prabhakar, Sq Ldr Mr and Mrs Chhina, Col A R Khan and Col Gautam Das.
PRCS Chairman Major General (R) Ch Muhammad Nawaz Khan welcoming the delegation said that the PRCS mission is to alleviate the sufferings of the vulnerable without any discrimination of creed, colour, race religion or nationality as per the seven fundamental principles of the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement.
He said that PRCS and IPSI both are on same page in this regard adding that peace is the key for progress and prosperity of the region.
He said that the initiatives like this would help to bridge the gap and better understanding of each other humanitarian issues.
General Nawaz said that peace in the region will ensure better support to each other during any disaster or calamity.
Speaking on the occasion, IPSI India President Lt Gen (r) Moti Dar appreciated the efforts of the PRCS in serving the vulnerable.
He said that all nations should join hand to serve the humanity and it is only possible through peace and IPSI aimed at promoting peace among both the countries through people to people contact as people are the real force that can bring change.
General Moti Dar said that India want a stable Pakistan that will help promote peace and economic prosperity in the region and emphasized that the misconception that India wants to destabilize Pakistan is over.
The delegation also took a round of the PRCS Photo gallery where the PRCS Secretary General Dr Mahboob Sardar briefed the visitors about the PRCS activities.
The delegation also visited the PRCS Blood Donor Center and registered donated blood samples.
PRCS Director Operations M Ateeb Siddiqui gave a detailed presentation to the visiting delegation about the PRCS structures and its activities all over the country.
Later, the PRCS Chairman Major General (r) Ch Muhammad Nawaz Khan presented a shield and souvenir to the IPSI President.
