KOT RADHA KISHAN -The police claimed to have arrested eight members of a notorious inter-district dacoit gang including its ringleader and recovered looted money, gold, illicit weapons and other valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees from their possession.

Addressing a press briefing, Kot Radha Kishan Police SHO Haji Muhammad Akram told the newsmen that Imran alias Baba dacoit gang and its members including Ghulam Hussain, Arshad, Yasin, Tanvir etc. were the symbol of terror in Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Burewala, Faisalabad, Nankana Sahib and Sahiwal districts.

He said that Imran alias Baba gang involved in dozens of dacoity and robbery incidents. He said that Ghulam Hussain, son of Azmat Ali of Phoolnagar who was languishing in district Jail Kasur tipped off Imran about the houses well-off for robberies.

The officer pointed out that the culprits sent the money looted during dacoities committed on Ghulam Hussain information to his sister Fatima through easy paisa. The police recovered Rs1.7 million, 15 tolas of gold, one 222-bore rifle, eight pistols and other valuables from their possession.

The SHO also praised the efforts of In-Charge Police Post Factory Area Raja Shaukat Ali who recovered the stolen property from different districts. The police officer also claimed that the gang had confessed to 26 incidents so far and further revelations were expected.
