QUETTA - President Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) Balochistan chapter Maqsood Ali Domki has suggested that in order to create harmony between Sunni and Shia sects a grand jirga comprising Baloch, Pashtun and Hazara tribal elders and religious scholars will be held.Talking to journalists at the Quetta Press Club on Tuesday, he said that the Hazara community has been subjected to targeted killings for a decade and the attacks were mounting rather than falling. “So far 500 Hazara people have been killed in sectarian targeted killings,” he claimed. Domki also said that the government and its functionaries were aware of the hideouts of terrorists and they should launch a crackdown to flush them out.He said everyone who was backing and financing the terrorists should be unveiled and brought to justice. “Action should also be taken against such religious leaders and seminaries that generate hatred against fellow Muslims,” he added.The MWM president suggested that a grand Jirga comprising Baloch, Pashtun and Hazara tribal elders be formed so that harmony amongst Sunni and Shia sects could be maintained, religious leaders belonging to both school of thoughts should also be included in the Jirga.
