SHC issues notices to 10 federal ministries

The Sindh High Court on Thursday issued notices for March 12 to the federal cabinet, the Sindh government and 10 federal ministries in a petition filed on behalf of the families of missing persons. The petitioner, Advocate Nisar Mujahid, argued that the economic support of families of those arrested and shifted to the United States lies with the federal government. He argued that the families of those arrested in the aftermath of 9/11 have suffered excessive emotional trauma and severe economic crises. He alleged that federal ministries of youth affairs, religious affairs, foreign affairs and human rights as well as the women development and special initiatives divisions have failed to provide protection to the affected families as guaranteed by the Constitution.
