Newlywed slaughtered, youth guns down mother

At least 13 persons including six women were killed and 15 others sustained injuries in different incidents of honour killing, enmity and other mishaps over the past 24 hours.
According to details, in Sargodha, a man slaughtered his wife just on 8th days of their marriage. As per reports, Rimsha alias Bubbly was married off to Mohammad Naveed, a resident of Mujahid Colony eight days ago. The other night she allegedly received a cellphone call which irritated her husband who brutally slaughtered her with a knife on suspicion of having illicit relations with someone. The Urban Area Police have registered case against the accused and his brother Tanvir. In village 7/ML, Adnan along with his accomplices gunned down a youth identified as Faisal Abbas, son of Mohammad Ashraf. The accused doubted that the youth had been assisting their opponents.
In Toba Tek Singh, a Kabirwala-based man killed his wife in Gojra the other night. The woman namely Umme Kashoom had been residing with her parents after a developing difference with her husband Asghar who attacked her when she was returning in a rickshaw on Moongi Road to her parents house from sister’s house. He shot her dead on the spot.
In another incident, a 17-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by jumping into River Ravi near Pirmahal. According to the Arrouti Police, Hajiran Bibi, daughter of Malang Ali, a farmer of Mouza Najabat Kay Kathia quarrelled with her parents over some domestic issue. She went to nearby locality Shahadat Kay Kathia, located one km away from her village situated on River Ravi bank and jumped into deep water. Rescue 1122 divers were searching her body in Ravi water till the filing of this news.
In Sheikhupura, a woman and a man committed suicide in different parts of the Farooqabad Saddr Police remit. In first incident one Balqees Bibi, a resident of village Chambal took poisonous pills and ended her life. The motive behind the suicide stated to be financial constraint. The deceased had demanded some amount from her husband for domestic expenditure who could not arrange the amount at which the disappointed woman ended her life. In second incident one Abdul Rehman shot himself dead over poverty in village Dera Mallah Singh. The deceased was jobless for the last several months and due to his poor economic condition was unable to feed his family.
In Chiniot, a woman was killed and eight others were injured in separate incidents of violence in different localities here on Monday.
Police said that in Bahaduriwala locality a wicked youth gunned down his mother after exchange hot words over domestic disputes and escaped the scene.
In another incident, armed accused of two rival groups traded fire in Madad Ali Chowk in Chenab Nagar area. In the crossfire eight persons from both groups sustained wounds who were shifted to hospital.
The police registered separate cases.
In Chakwal, a speeding truck crushed to death three motorcyclists here on Monday.
Police said that a speeding goods-laden truck rammed into a motorcycle carrying three persons on Chakwal-Sohawa Road near Mulhal Mughlan area.
Resultantly, two motorcyclists were killed on the spot while another sustained wounds who was rushed to hospital where he also succumbed to his wounds.
The truck driver managed to escape from the scene. A case has been registered against him.
Meanwhile, in Rajanpur, three persons including a woman were killed and six others injured in collision between a passenger bus and truck here on Monday.
The accident took place on Indus Highway near Khaira Farm where a Karachi-bound passenger coach coming from Peshawar collided head-on with a truck.
As a result three persons including Fariduddin, a resident of Hangu, Muneer Khan belong to Quetta and a 57-year-old woman were killed while six others sustained wounds. The police and Rescue 1122 personnel reached the scene of accident and shifted the injured to DHQ Hospital.
