ISLAMABAD: Noon police have taken into custody a man accused of sodomizing a teenager after a mob thrashed him inside a shop at the market.

The man later identified as Umer Hayat of Klor Kot district Bhakkar can be seen in a video, surrounded by a mob and being beaten in the presence of the police officials.

However, the police managed to get the accused released from the clutches of the mob members and take him to the police van to shift to the police station.–STAFF REPORTER

Hayat allegedly sodomized Chan Zeb (14) who used to work as an electrician in a market near Haji Camp chowk. Chan Zeb is a resident of Dhok Dadu moza Noon.

The investigation officer told The Nation that the accused is a peon at the market. “The alleged incident took place on Tuesday and the accused formally reported the matter to the police on Wednesday. We have sent both the accused and the victim for medical examination as the accused is in police custody,” said the investigation officer.
