ISLAMABAD   -   Afghan government and Afghan Taliban are accusing each other of killing hundreds of people in recently captured border town Spin Boldak located near the Pak-Afghan border, where the security situation remained tense.

Spokesman of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) rejected the claims of Afghan government that Taliban are responsible for missing and killing of hundreds of people in Spin Boldak.

Taliban spokesman Qari Mohammad Yusuf Ahmadi in a statement issued in Doha said for  several days now,  various spokespersons of Afghan government have been spreading rumours that after the capture of Spin Boldak district of Kandahar province by Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate, they started killing and arresting the surrendered people. “We strongly reject this propaganda. After the capture of Spin Boldak district by the Mujahideen, all the surrendered troops and police were treated well and no one was harmed there”, Ahmedhi said The spokesman said that four people have been reportedly killed due to some personal enmity in Boldak area for which Taliban are working to arrest the perpetrators and investigate the case.

Qari Yousaf Ahmedhi said given the baseless rumours of killings by Mujahideen in the region, we call on humanitarian and international organizations and the media to visit Spin Boldak district themselves to investigate the claims.

“We will facilitate their visit in order to prove whether anyone was killed”, he said. On the other hand, Pakistan which had closed the border with Afghanistan in Chaman, after the Taliban captured Spin Boldak, now has been opened for all purposes.
