Asif briefed on KP, Balochistan situation

ISLAMABAD - President Asif Ali Zardari, Monday, met, separately, Governors of two provinces that have disturbances in an apparent bid to get updated on law and order in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and development progress in Balochistan. According to an official handout, Owais Ahmed Ghani Governor PK discussed with the President matters regarding security and law and order situation both in the province and in FATA. The KP Governor also apprised the President about the status of the ongoing development projects in the province and the rehabilitation of the war-affected people. The Governor also apprised the President about the current development activities initiated by the incumbent government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA. In a separate meeting Balochistan Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi told the President that development projects especially those under Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan package were progressing well. However, law and order was still an impediment in the way of speedy development of province, he further told. The President urged the provincial government to take all possible steps for the welfare and uplift of the people of Balochistan.
