English teachers in short supply

One of the problems our education system is facing is that while the medium of instruction is English, well trained faculty fluent in the language is in short supply. The problem is that most of the people with BA degrees are normally appointed as teachers without any scrutiny system. The condition is simply worse off in countryside where generally it has been observed that a number of teachers are not even well versed in Urdu, what to talk of English. A qualified faculty is the need of the hour, one that our primary schools need direly. This is urgent if we want our next generation to compete internationally.
