ISLAMABAD - Apparently reacting to the statement of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in abroad that London plan had been failed, Chairman Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan Wednesday alleged that PML-N and PPP had made the actual London Plan in 2007 in the name of ‘Charter of Democracy’ (CoD) to give cover to corruption of each other.

Addressing a very thin crowd amid heavy rain and winds in the capital that caused disturbance for the protestors of PTI’s sit-in, Imran Khan said that he would not admit defeat until the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and would leave the sit-in only with PM’s resignation. Imran Khan raised serious questions about the CoD, a document signed in 2007 by PPP’ slain leader Benazir Bhutto and PML-N ‘s Nawaz Sharif at a time when both were in exile. COD is considered as the sacred document in the political history of Pakistan. “These days I am hearing about London Plan,” he mentioned towards his secret meeting with Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Dr Tahirul Qadri in London. “Is this a London plan what we are doing here,” he said. He said London plan was that they would defeat the rulers with the help of masses.

Imran Khan alleged that London plan was made in 2007 in the name of CoD what he termed the two parties Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) had made to give a cover to corruption of each other and to loot the country turn by turn.   He said that in London plan it was decided that both these parties would choose the Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) as well as the heads of caretaker governments for the general elections.

As a result of this, both parties chose the chairman NAB and now the bureau had quitted Nawaz Sharif in Hudaybia Paper Mills case in which he had got 300 billion rupees as gift from the Gulf country prince. He claimed that Nawaz Sharif was facing 60 cases in the NAB and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah was facing two cases there. “Both had planned to choose caretaker heads of the governments only to rig elections,” he said.

The PTI chief reminded PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari used to say that the ‘election was of Returning Officers (ROs)’ and questioned why he accepted the results. He alleged that both parties (PML-N and PPP) were not serious to bring back the looted money from aboard. “Zardari’s 60 million dollars were lying in Swiss Banks but the PML-N government would never write a letter to bring the money back in the country,” he said. He said that a new hob-knobbing between the two parties was not to contest election against Makhdoom Javed Hashmi Imran Khan claimed that in new Pakistan, the country would not need to take loans from foreign countries but they would not let both parties to loot and plunder.

Quoting former Chairman NAB Fasih Bokhari, he said that daily corruption and tax theft in Pakistan was amounting to Rs12 billion and if they saved Rs10 billion a day then they would not need to get loan from IMF and US. He said that they were breaking world record of the longest 43 days sit-in of Guinness Book as their sit-in had entered into 42 day. Chairman PTI questioned why a protocol of around 750 police officials was given to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari during his visit to Multan. He said that Pakistan had been divided into two parts, on one side is courageous youth and on the other side is ruling class. “Our new challenge is how to raise the life of 110 million people who were living below the poverty line,” he said, adding that China had 400 million people from the poverty line in 20 years.
