Liam Neeson has said he expects that the Taken franchise will come to an end with the third film.
The actor has played retired CIA agent Bryan Mills in two other Taken films in 2008 and 2012, and is due to appear in what he believes will be the final instalment in 2015. He told USA Today: ‘It’s a rollicking good story, but I think this is the end.’ Liam added that he was keen to continue with his action film career outside of Taken, saying: ‘If I feel audiences saying, ‘Come on, he’s 62, enough is enough,’ I’m very sensitive to that and if I pick up that vibe it will all stop. And I’ll start playing dads or grandfathers. But I keep myself pretty fit and my knees are still great. And it’s fun.’
In Taken 3, Bryan will find himself hunted after being framed for murder, a change from the first film in which he and his ex-wife Lenore were taken hostage while on holiday and the sequel which saw his daughter Kim (Maggie Grace) kidnapped on a trip though Europe.
Liam said of the latest plot: ‘This time, no more travelling. If my daughter was ‘taken’ again on a trip, Bryan Mills would have to be certifiably locked up for bad parenting.’ Taken 3 is due to be released in cinemas on January 8, 2015.
