SARGODHA   -   After the cancellation of interim bail by Lahore High Court (LHC), Anti-corruption Establishment Sargodha division on Saturday claimed to have arrested a Municipal Committee Head Clerk on the charge of embezzling salaries of 20 sanitary workers in Kundian.

According to official sources, minority councilor town committee Kundian - Hameed Gill had submitted an application to Regional Director ACE Sargodha division Asma Ejaz Cheema, alleging that Municipal Committee head clerk Nadeem Anwer, in connivance with the officials of the department concerned, received Rs228,860 from the head office for disbursement of salaries among 20 sanitary workers but he did not pay the salaries to the workers.

Taking action on the application, Asma Ejaz referred the case to ACE circle officer Adnan Hayder for inquiry. Following the inquiry report, the head clerk was found guilty and the accused had got interim bail from special judge Anti Corruption Sargodha.  Later, the anti-corruption Sargodha court and high court rejected his interim bail as he was not pursuing the case. Anwer managed to escape from the court. The ACE team arrested him after a successful raid and put him behind the bars.

FIVE SITES SEALED, 25 FIRS REGISTERED OVER DENGUE LARVAE

Anti-dengue crackdown was underway and the teams sealed five sites, notices served to 28 and 25 FIRs registered over dengue larvae in Multan. The health teams started inspection of tyre shops, roofs of plazas and scrap yards, under the directions of Commissioner Multan division, Aamir Khattak. Speaking on this occasion, Commissioner said that the anti-dengue crackdown was in progress as per directions of the Punjab government. The cleanliness of public buildings, spraying and cleaning, spraying and larval surveillance on large scale will be carried out. It is possible to eliminate the dengue mosquito by keeping the environment clean and dry, he said.
