KHANEWAL   -   A man allegedly killed his wife and set her body ablaze over a domestic dispute at Chak 45/10R here on Saturday. According to rescue officials, skirmish occurred between a couple over a domestic dispute. Later, accused Ashraf allegedly killed his wife Shazia and then set the body on fire.

Upon receiving information, the rescue team rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Civil hospital. Police concerned was busy in interrogation into the incident.


An armed outlaw allegedly killed his sister and brother-in-law in the name of honour near Pathan hotel Head Muhammad Wala, Muzaffargarh on Saturday.

According to police, 25-year-old Samina and her husband 40-year-old M Abdullah Nizami, a journalist from Layyah, were going to Multan in a car when suddenly the girl’s brother opened fire on them near Pathan Hotel Head Muhammad Wala. The couple died on the spot. Local people caught the accused Amir Ramzan and handed him over to the police.

The victim girl was belonged to Daira Deen Panah while her husband from Layyah. Rescue 1122 shifted the bodies to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Kot Addu for autopsy. Forensic teams have collected evidences from the spot. Chowk Sarwar Shaheed police have started legal action into the incident.

Meanwhile, Inspector General Police Punjab Faisal Shahkar took notice of killing of Kot Sultan Press Club president and journalist Abdullah Nizami from Layyah district and his wife. The IGP Punjab also sought report from RPO DG Khan regarding the incident.

DPO Ahmed Nawaz Shah said that the police team has arrested the accused Aamir Ramzan, who was involved in the killing of the couple. The DPO further said that the accused will be brought to justice by fulfilling the legal requirements.

According to the police spokesperson, IGP Punjab Shahkar Faisal has taken notice of the murder of journalist Abdullah Nizami and his wife near Head Muhammad Wala Pathan Hotel in Muzaffargarh and has sought a report.

The IGP Punjab has directed the police officials to keep a close contact with the family of the victims. Accused Amir Ramzan said that his sister had married on her own will for which he killed the couple.


A woman was killed while five others sustained injuries when a passenger bus overturned due to collision with truck after hitting an electric pole at Mailsi Road, Burewala.

According to rescue officials, a passenger bus coming from Mailsi lost control and turned turtle after colliding with a truck near Adda 63/WB and hit an electric pole. As a result, 35-year-old woman namely Faiz Amin died on the spot while five passengers including Ali Sibtain, Asif Ali, M Amir and others sustained serious injuries. Rescue teams rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to a local hospital while the bus driver was pulled out by cutting the body of the bus as his both legs badly crushed. The accident took place due to over speeding.
