PESHAWAR   -    The Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) has said that 60 police employees were dismissed from service while 1,278 employees were administered other punish­ments as per the reward and punishment policy. 

To prevent the burking of cases, Peshawar Police have registered 390 FIRs for the previous year in the current year, stated Peshawar police chief on Thursday. 

Speaking at a press briefing, Capital City Police Of­ficer (CCPO) Ijaz Khan said that since the beginning of the year 2022 so far, Peshawar police, comprising Peshawar and Khyber districts, registered 379 cases of murder, 571 attempted murder, 27 kidnappings, 44 rape, 38 cases of attacks on police and 28 cases of sexual assaults on children.

The months of June, July and August witnessed an increase in cases of violence and murders, as 169 murder cases were reported during the period.

“As many as 57 blind murder cases were also solved during the year 2022 and 82 culprits were arrested as a result,” the official said.
