PMS officers body demands release of detained employees

PESHAWAR   -   PMS Officers Association Saturday condemned the arrest of employees of the Civil Secretariat under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) Ordinance and their detention in the DI Khan Jail for 30 days.

A statement issued by the All Pakistan PMS Officers Association’s convener Fahad Ikram Qazi stated that the arrested employees were planning a peaceful protest against arbitrary act of giving quota to employees of districts’ employees into the PMS . “This has rarely happened in the history of Civil Secretariat where employees are treated with such high-handedness,” it said.

It added the association demands immediate release of all the arrested staff members and conducting an inquiry against those who mishandled this situation.

It further said that any change in terms and conditions of the PMS Service cannot be done without consultations with all stake holders.

“The federal PAS officers , posted in the province intend to dilute and undermine PMS by encouraging inductions, deputations and even harming the very structure of Provincial Civil Service to keep it weak and subservient to federal PAS service ,” said the convener of the association.
